Verdigris, a tea and chocolate bar in Hudson, NY, is about to open a second location on Main Street in Catskill. The shop is expected to open at 291 Main St. on the corner of Bronson Street in a 3-story turn-of-the-century brick building.
“Catskill seems to be growing and expanding in the same way as Hudson,” says owner Kim Bach. “The idea of having a store right across the river feels wonderful – a kind of Verdigris annex.” Bach plans on doing some renovations to the building. “We plan on building an outdoor patio. Then when the weather is good, folks can get a snack and sit outside. It’ll be a place where you can pop in and grab a tea or cappuccino and one of Regina’s great baked products.”
Verdigris will be serving their locally made baked goods by Regina Simmons that are currently offered in the Hudson shop. The shop received their 2nd consecutive “Best Dessert” award from the Columbia County Chamber. Dessert selections include gluten-free, vegan and traditional baked goods. Customers will be able to order specialty cakes or tarts for an event.
Along with baked goods, Verdigris will continue to offer artisanal chocolates and decadent lattes, cappuccinos, smoothies and other favorites.
Verdigris Tea is currently located at 135 Warren St. in Hudson.
Verdigris Catskill opened on Tuesday December 8th. Businesses currently open, or seeking to open in Greene County are encouraged to explore the Business Support Programs available through the Invest In Greene program.
